Three hour clinical training program meets monthly
October through May

This training seminar is designed to provide a forum for the ongoing study of Bowen family systems theory and therapy.  Participants need to have a basic understanding of Bowen theory and an interest in applying theoretical concepts to their personal and professional work.  The overall aim of the training program is to increase knowledge of emotional systems and to facilitate efforts towards differentiation of self.
F O R M A T

DIDACTIC COMPONENT
(
9:00 am to 10:30 am).
During this time participants will have an opportunity to:

-  Study Bowen family systems theory
-  Apply theory to clinical work and
    family relationships
-  View self in the context of
    family-of-origin
 

Readings assigned in advance will be used to stimulate thinking and increase knowledge of Bowen theory.  

CONSULTATION COMPONENT
(10:30 - noon)
In small groups participants have the opportunity to:

-  Present clinical cases
-  Family of origin work 
-  Other system dilemmas

Consultation will focus on assisting in the effort to apply theoretical concepts in personal, professional and clinical arenas.
